$21M Funding to Bring AI to Rural Clinics in India
CureBay raises $21M to expand AI-powered healthcare in rural India, scaling e-clinics and integrating machine learning and IoT diagnostics across underserved regions.

CureBay, an Indian e-clinic startup, has raised $21 million in Series B funding to deepen its mission of providing AI-powered healthcare to rural communities. The funding round was led by Bertelsmann India Investments, with Elevar Equity and British International Investment also participating.

Founded in 2021, CureBay has built a network of over 150 rural e-clinics across Odisha and Chhattisgarh, supported by more than 1,000 Swasthya Mitras, or community health workers. These trained workers assist patients with teleconsultations, diagnostics, medicine deliveries, and even hospital concierge services. Around 90,000 users are currently subscribed to CureBay’s preventive health service package.

WHAT'S IT FOR?

The capital will enhance CureBay’s AI capabilities, enabling workflow automation and predictive diagnostics across its network. The company is integrating machine learning, generative AI, and IoT-based diagnostics into its platform to improve service delivery in underserved areas further.

According to Founder and CEO Priyadarshi Mohapatra, “The capital will help us scale technology, talent, and reach to bring dignified, affordable healthcare to the last mile.” CureBay has raised over $13 million in Series A rounds and aims to scale to 200 e-clinics shortly.

CureBay’s raise reflects a broader surge in AI-driven health tech funding in India. Qure.ai, which focuses on medical imaging, secured $65 million in Series D funding. Cureskin, a dermatology AI platform, raised $20 million in Series B, while Dozee attracted $8 million for its AI-enabled contactless vital sign monitoring system.

Other notable investments include BrainSight AI ($5M, brain mapping), Consint.AI ($500K, AI insurance tech), and Lifesigns, backed by Kauvery Hospital to bolster its predictive patient monitoring platform.

As AI redefines healthcare delivery, CureBay’s latest funding marks a significant step toward an inclusive, tech-enabled rural health infrastructure in India.
