Harvard’s David B. Wilkins inaugurates JGLS's Cyril Shroff AI Law Centre in London, spotlighting India’s leadership in AI and legal governance.

A landmark event in global AI governance and legal education took place in London with the launch of the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law & Regulation at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU). This Centre is India’s first dedicated institution focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence, law, and public policy. Established through a transformative ₹15 crore endowment by Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, the Centre aims to drive research, education, and global collaborations in the AI and law sector.

Visionary Leadership and Interdisciplinary Collaboration

The inauguration featured a keynote lecture by Professor David B. Wilkins of Harvard Law School, who discussed the profound impact of AI on legal systems. He emphasized the need for lawyers to evolve into architects of technological justice. The event, co-hosted by JGU, The Law Society of England and Wales, and other partners, highlighted the Centre’s mission to bridge the gap between law, technology, and ethics. Professor C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU, praised Mr. Shroff’s philanthropic commitment to AI regulation and access to justice, and underscored the Centre’s potential to influence both Indian and global legal landscapes.
