Amazon Launches Nova Act AI Agent and New Platform for Generative AI Exploration
Amazon is taking a major step forward in democratizing access to its generative AI technologies with the launch of nova.amazon.com, a new portal for developers and tech enthusiasts to explore and test the company’s Nova foundation models. Alongside this launch, Amazon has released a research preview of Nova Act, a novel AI model designed to autonomously complete tasks in a web browser.
Rohit Prasad, Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Artificial General Intelligence, said, “Nova.amazon.com puts the power of Amazon’s frontier intelligence into the hands of every developer and tech enthusiast, making it easier than ever to explore the capabilities of Amazon Nova.”
He added, “We’ve created this experience to inspire builders, so that they can quickly test their ideas with Nova models, and then implement them at scale in Amazon Bedrock.”
Nova Act: A New AI Model for Web Interactions
Amazon Nova Act is part of a broader push to advance AI agent capabilities, systems that act on behalf of users to complete tasks in digital environments. Trained on a customized version of the Amazon Nova model, Nova Act allows developers to build browser-based agents capable of navigating web pages, completing forms, handling purchases, and responding to on-screen content.
The Nova Act SDK, now available in preview, enables developers to break down complex workflows into manageable commands and enhance agent reliability with additional instruction layers.

A Comprehensive Suite of Nova AI Models
Amazon initially unveiled its Nova family of foundation models at re:Invent in December 2024. These include Nova Micro, Lite, and Pro, text-generating models optimized for speed, versatility, and cost-efficiency, as well as Nova Canvas for generating images and Nova Reel for producing high-quality videos from text or image inputs.
These models are now accessible through the nova.amazon.com platform and are deeply integrated into Amazon Bedrock, AWS’s platform for building and scaling generative AI applications.
Empowering Builders Across Use Cases
Amazon has launched a new platform for developers, creatives, business professionals, and AI enthusiasts to interact with its generative models. Users can explore text generation, Nova Canvas for image creation, and Nova Reel for video previews. The platform aims to enhance AI adoption across shopping, advertising, enterprise, and consumer experiences, supported by tools like Alexa+, Amazon Q, Rufus, and Amazon Bedrock.
