Bangkok and Google Partner on AI-Driven Traffic Solution

In a move to fight congestion issues and look over sustainability in the transport industry, Bangkok has put forward a plan with Google to use artificial intelligence to manage the city’s traffic flow. The decision was formally announced by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spokesman Ekwaranyu Amrapal on Monday, where he promised smarter and faster traffic solutions to the city complaining about the rising traffic issues everywhere.
AI-Powered Traffic Solutions
Under the new collaboration that has been signed, Big Data and AI technologies have been set to analyze the real-time behavior of people across the city. With the data that would have been collected, the AI systems will be used to suggest changes in traffic signals; this would be done by analyzing current conditions to ease congestion, which is the highest during peak hours.
The project is goal-oriented and would respond intelligently to real-time traffic patterns to reduce traffic flow at certain places. The goal is to lead to smoother commutes and enhanced efficiency for residents of Bangkok.

A Step Toward Sustainability
The second goal of this collaboration is to focus on environmental benefits as well. The system is expected to reduce time by maintaining a smooth traffic flow and thus reducing the overall congestion in the city where people have many traffic-related problems. With a focus on the environment, the government also focuses on having cleaner air across the city, which would help significantly improve the quality of life of its citizens.
The BMA spokesperson also highlighted the point that the Bangkok metropolitan administration prioritized the daily commuting experiences. With the integration of Google’s cutting-edge technology, the system is expected to be a modern one with good adaptiveness and better plans to be ready for the future. With the focus on the future, the emphasis is given to the Urban Environment.
Public Involvement in Traffic Management
For better execution of the newly constructed plan, the BMA asked the residents to report traffic issues using a Traffy Fondue application. The tool allows the citizens to alert the authorities by reporting congestion problems. The data generated by the tool would be used to respond to congestion problems as soon as possible.
The system is also expected to bring a positive change in the quality of Urban Life as it helps drastically reduce pollution; it plans to help people look at Southeast Asia's future if proper importance is given to such issues.
