Bidgely Expands AI-Powered Energy Analytics with Acquisition of Grid4C
Bidgely acquires Grid4C to enhance its AI-powered UtilityAI Platform, improving customer experience and utility operations with advanced predictive analytics for energy management.

Bidgely, a global pioneer in AI-powered energy analytics, has acquired Grid4C, a developer of AI-based predictive analytics solutions for the energy industry. This deal will boost Bidgely's UtilityAI Platform, deepening its capabilities on the grid side and engaging consumers. With this strategic acquisition, Bidgely aims to establish itself as a market leader in the energy intelligence domain through the expansion of its solutions in home energy management, customer experience, demand response, load shaping, and distributed energy resources (DER) optimization.

Grid4C

Grid4C technology has been already adopted by utilities in North America, APAC, and Europe, and Alectra Utilities and Engie are among its key investors.

Combining Grid4C's ability with Bidgely's platform offers immense value to both customers and utilities. Through Grid4C's fault detection algorithms, Bidgely can now deliver better appliance health insights, for instance, when heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment is going to fail. This will enable utilities to offer more anticipatory customer care.

Enhancing Customer Experience and Utility Operations

Incorporating Grid4C's technology into Bidgely's solution improves the customer experience by providing appliance maintenance programs and new revenue sources for utilities by partnering with home service providers. Consumers are positively impacted through proactive appliance insights that enable them to prevent expensive repairs and save money on future maintenance.

Another major feature of the deal is incorporating Grid4C's AI-driven granular load and DER forecasting within Bidgely's customer engagement platform. This will allow customers to better optimize their energy usage with precise forecasts, such as 7-day ahead hourly consumption and 30-day ahead bill forecasts. Additionally, the platform will alert users about usage anomalies, helping prevent unexpected bill shocks.

On the grid-side, Bidgely’s combined offering will allow utilities to forecast faults, identify potential overloads in grid assets, and predict peaks in solar production and electric vehicle consumption. These insights will enable utilities to manage demand response programs and optimize the performance of DERs.
