Delhi Schools to Get AI, Robotics & Smart Classrooms

Delhi's education system is set for a significant technological overhaul with the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and smart boards in schools. Minister Ashish Sood announced the ambitious plan, highlighting that the integration of these technologies would enhance educational quality and expose students to cutting-edge tools. Sood's announcement followed a visit to a state-run school in Surat, Gujarat, where he observed the use of smart boards and AI-powered classrooms.
Smart Classrooms: A Comparative Insight
Sood's visit to Gujarat offered valuable insights into the effective use of technology in education. While Delhi, the national capital, boasts abundant resources, only a few hundred smart boards are currently available in its government schools. In contrast, Gujarat has successfully established over 1.1 lakh smart classrooms, despite challenges such as annual floods in several districts. This stark contrast highlighted the need for Delhi to improve its educational technology infrastructure. Sood expressed the hope that Delhi could learn from Gujarat’s experience, particularly in implementing the National Education Policy 2020.

Learning from Gujarat's Educational Reforms
Gujarat’s success in integrating technology into its educational system has set a high benchmark for other states. Despite facing natural adversities, Gujarat has significantly advanced its educational technology, making it a model for progress. Minister Sood praised Gujarat's efforts and suggested that Delhi should adopt similar strategies to enhance its own education system. By incorporating AI, robotics, and smart classrooms, Delhi aims to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological world.
