Eaton & Siemens Energy Partner for Fast-Track Data Center Onsite Power Solutions

Eaton, a leader in intelligent power management, and Siemens Energy, a global energy technology company, have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at addressing urgent market demands in the data center sector.
Their partnership introduces a fast-track approach to building data centers with integrated onsite power. This innovation is designed to offer data center developers reliable, grid-independent energy supplies and modular systems, enabling quicker construction and deployment of data centers worldwide.
Addressing Urgent Energy Demands for Data Centers
The new collaboration between Eaton and Siemens Energy aims to offer reliable, on-demand energy solutions that can support the rapid growth of data centers, which are facing increasing energy demands driven by digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The energy requirements of data centers are growing exponentially, as global digitalization increases and AI models such as ChatGPT consume significantly more energy than traditional applications.
This partnership will provide data center owners and developers with new, flexible options to meet their energy needs, including renewable energy integration to comply with regional regulations where necessary.
Modular and Scalable Power Plant Solutions
Siemens Energy contributes its modular power plant solution to the partnership, providing a customized solution for the high-energy requirements of data centers. The power plant is sized to produce 500 MW of power, with extremely efficient SGT-800 gas turbines, redundancy, and battery energy storage systems to guarantee maximum availability. This scalable, flexible architecture enables the plant size to be optimized according to particular data center requirements.
In the coming years, the plant can be run in a carbon-neutral way if hydrogen is included in the sustainability plan of the data center. The alliance also provides an optional emission-free clean air grid connection, either to be installed during construction or retrofitted. This feature would enable data centers to provide grid services and contribute to the overall energy balance.

Eaton’s Role in Accelerating Data Center Deployment
Eaton provides essential electrical equipment and services for data centers, including switchgear, UPS systems, busways, racks, and software tools to ensure reliable power delivery from grid to chip.
Cyrille Brisson, Global Segment Leader for Data Centers at Eaton, said, “Our approach of letting customers pick the right balance of energy sources is very flexible and construction to start-up time is swift with options to reduce emissions in both the short and long term.”
He added, “Crucially, our approach offers data center owners and developers the opportunity to build capacity and bring it online fast in any location where they have land available that is close to gas, water and fiber.”
Overcoming the Growing Demand for Power
Rising global power demand, driven by digitalization and industrial electrification—is straining infrastructure, with data center consumption expected to double by 2030. Siemens Energy and Eaton are addressing this by providing fast, modular power solutions that reduce reliance on existing grids, ensuring reliable, scalable energy for new data centers.
