Etiq AI Secures €900,000 Seed Funding to Revolutionize Machine Learning Debugging

Etiq AI, a London-based AI startup founded by women, has raised €900,000 in seed funding, led by GapMinder VC. This comes after a successful £1 million grant from InnovateUK. The newly secured funds will be used to scale Etiq’s innovative platform, Data Science Copilot, which is designed to radically enhance debugging and testing for machine learning (ML) models.

Accelerating Developer Productivity

The data science platform market is predicted to surpass $320 billion by 2026, making tools that boost developer productivity increasingly valuable. Etiq enters a growing field of AI infrastructure startups but distinguishes itself by focusing specifically on post-training robustness and fairness in ML models.

Etiq AI was founded by Iris Anson (CEO) and Raluca Crisan (CTO), both of whom bring extensive expertise in machine learning and AI testing. Their deep dive into the challenges of debugging AI and ML pipelines led to the development of Data Science Copilot. This platform, launched in March 2025, aims to dramatically reduce the time spent debugging ML pipelines—from weeks to mere minutes.

Core Features of Data Science Copilot

Etiq’s Data Science Copilot offers a range of features aimed at improving the efficiency of data scientists. It provides deep visibility into the logical flow of AI/ML code, recommends appropriate tests to enhance pipeline robustness, and integrates Root Cause Analysis (RCA) agents to identify and resolve issues within the code. Etiq is offering a 30-day free trial to help data scientists and organizations strengthen their AI capabilities.

Investment and Future Plans

Robert Herscovici, Investment Director at GapMinder VC, expressed excitement about supporting Etiq AI’s vision. He emphasized the need for robust tools that help developers monitor, debug, and improve ML models in real time, especially with the increasing usage of AI agents. Herscovici praised the founders’ unique combination of technical expertise and product vision, believing that Etiq has the potential to become a category-defining company in the AI tooling sector.

The newly raised funds will go toward enhancing automation in testing and debugging, expanding the platform’s capabilities in the Large Language Model (LLM) space, and growing the Etiq team. Additionally, the company plans to ramp up its commercial marketing efforts throughout 2025.
