Google Launches AI for Energy Accelerator in Europe and Israel to Boost Climate Tech Startups

Google for Startups has officially announced the opening of applications for its AI for Energy Accelerator program in Europe and Israel, aimed at startups that are leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to drive the region's energy transition.
This is an exciting opportunity for startups to scale their AI-driven solutions to address Europe's urgent energy security, decarbonization, and industrial competitiveness challenges.
The 12-week, equity-free program, which will begin in September 2025, is designed to support innovative startups focused on modernizing European energy systems and empowering industrial transformation.
The accelerator, which builds on the success of the earlier North America cohort, will provide intensive mentorship, technical support, and access to cutting-edge AI tools and Google Cloud infrastructure.
Program Highlights
The 12-week program, running from September to November 2025, is open to AI-driven startups in the energy sector, with applications closing on June 30, 2025. It features a blend of virtual sessions and in-person opportunities, offering mentorship from Googlers and energy industry experts.
Participants will gain access to Google Cloud infrastructure and AI tools, along with a curriculum focused on AI/ML infrastructure, product design, go-to-market strategies, and leadership development.
Tackling Europe’s Energy Challenges
Startups selected for the accelerator will focus on the following core areas to help Europe achieve its climate and energy goals:
Startups selected for the accelerator will focus on three core areas to support Europe’s climate and energy goals. First, they will develop software solutions for utilities, grid operators, and energy developers to modernize and decarbonize the energy infrastructure, enhancing grid resilience and intelligence.
Second, they will leverage AI for load flexibility and optimization, enabling dynamic and efficient energy systems that support the integration of carbon-free energy and smart grid applications.
Third, the program will emphasize energy efficiency solutions for industrial customers, particularly technologies that support climate-neutral operations and optimize electricity usage to boost industrial competitiveness across Europe.
