Indian enterprises are leading the global charge in translating generative AI adoption into measurable returns on investment (ROI), according to Adobe’s latest study titled “Adobe 2025 AI and Digital Trends: India Snapshot.” Based on inputs from 345 executives and 841 consumers in India, the report highlights how businesses are harnessing AI to increase content speed, efficiency, and scale.

“Indian businesses are setting the global pace for realising ROI on AI initiatives, as most are improving scale, speed, and efficiencies,” said Prativa Mohapatra, Vice President and Managing Director of Adobe India. Nearly 23% of Indian organisations have already demonstrated a tangible return on investment (ROI) from working AI solutions, among the highest worldwide.

AI Adoption and Consumer Readiness

Indian consumers are also becoming increasingly comfortable with AI assistants. Over 50% prefer using AI tools for routine tasks such as scheduling appointments (56%), tech support (56%), and placing orders (52%). This shift signals readiness for more advanced agentic AI systems that act autonomously to complete complex tasks.

"To sustain this momentum, companies must address data infrastructure challenges and scale agentic AI to offload repetitive tasks," Mohapatra noted.

Barriers and the Human-AI Balance

Despite rapid gains, key obstacles remain. While 85% of Indian executives expect AI to accelerate content production significantly by 2025, 57% cite governance, compliance, and privacy as top concerns. Furthermore, 55% of practitioners report challenges in balancing AI capabilities with human creativity.

Highlighting industry application, Satya Ramaswamy, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Air India, shared, “From our GenAI chatbot to our eZ booking platform powered by agentic AI, Adobe’s technologies enable us to deliver highly personalized travel experiences aligned with evolving customer expectations.”
