Malaysia’s Krenovator Secures Seed Funding to Scale AI-Powered Tech Talent Platform

Malaysian tech startup Krenovator Technology Sdn. Bhd. has secured seed funding from Singapore and Malaysia-based venture firm Ignite Asia, marking a key milestone in its growth journey. The company officially closed the round in early 2025, although financial terms were not disclosed.

The fresh capital will be used to expand Krenovator’s team and enhance its marketing and sales functions, according to a company statement.

AI-Driven Platform Tackling Southeast Asia’s Tech Talent Gap

Founded in 2019, Krenovator operates a tech talent platform powered by AI that connects large enterprises with top-tier digital talent, focused on Malaysia and Indonesia. The firm presently has a curated list of close to 30,000 professionals—from software developers and testers to data scientists and business analysts.

CEO Mahadhir Yunus explained that the investment confirms the company's strategic emphasis on bridging tech talent shortages in Southeast Asia. He highlighted that Krenovator's AI-based sourcing capabilities and its inside knowledge of enterprise IT needs provide it with a competitive edge in the region.

Looking ahead, the company is targeting a threefold increase in revenue and a doubling of its client base within the next 12 to 18 months. Yunus also noted that new offerings are in development, including enhanced IT services and a Software Tester as a Service product. These will build on the platform’s existing strengths to meet enterprise digital transformation goals.

Regional Expansion and Global Ambitions

Krenovator provides solutions to clients across industries including oil and gas, telecommunications, financial services, logistics, and manufacturing. Its portfolio of clients encompasses Malaysia, the Middle East, and Europe, reflecting increasing worldwide demand for tech talent.

It achieved a client satisfaction rate of 98% and impressive client acquisition, which includes wins involving listed companies as well as Fortune 500 enterprises. These points reflect its growing reputation in international tech talent offerings.

Jake Thui, Vice President of Investments at Ignite Asia, said he was confident about the future of Krenovator, citing the company's innovative sourcing model and strong market fit. He said Ignite Asia views the company as well placed for regional growth and is looking forward to supporting its further development. Beyond talent matching, the platform also fosters a community for tech professionals, offering tools for career development and collaboration.

With new funding in place and a growing international footprint, Krenovator is setting the stage for its next phase of AI-driven growth in Southeast Asia’s competitive talent landscape.
