Microsoft Partners with Yotta Data Services to Accelerate AI Adoption in India

Microsoft and Yotta Data Services, India's leading sovereign cloud infrastructure provider, have entered into a landmark partnership to accelerate AI adoption in the country.
Under this collaboration, Microsoft will bring its advanced Azure AI services to Yotta's Shakti Cloud platform. The partnership will provide cutting-edge AI capabilities to developers, startups, enterprises, and public sector organizations across India.
AI at Scale with Local Sovereignty and Economic Efficiency
This strategic partnership combines the strengths of two industry leaders. Microsoft’s Azure AI platform, which offers powerful AI models, apps, and development environments, will run on Yotta’s sovereign AI infrastructure.
Yotta’s AI cloud platform, known for its low-latency and scalable compute solutions, is designed to support fast AI model training and real-time inferencing. This will be especially beneficial for critical sectors like agriculture, healthcare, education, finance, manufacturing, retail, and media.
Additionally, the partnership aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, a government initiative to enhance AI capabilities in the country. This collaboration will support India’s growing AI ecosystem, with a focus on developing indigenous AI models that align with the nation’s Digital Public Infrastructure. The partnership is poised to foster innovation and strengthen local AI infrastructure by collaborating with government entities, research institutions, IITs, and startups.
A Vision for AI-First India
The partnership’s overarching goal is to position India as an AI-first nation, leveraging Microsoft's trusted Azure AI platform alongside Yotta’s robust GPU infrastructure.
Together, they aim to empower organizations to build, scale, and deploy AI applications with a strong focus on safety, trust, and low-latency AI innovation. This will help developers and enterprises scale AI solutions responsibly while ensuring data sovereignty.
Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, said,“Our partnership with Yotta to power Shakti Cloud will help unlock AI innovation at scale. Microsoft is honored to play its part in helping the country realize its AI ambitions through innovation that reflect India’s unique needs and priorities."
He added,“India is already among the top global markets on AI adoption and return on investment. Together with Yotta, we will continue to help India become an AI-first nation, securely and responsibly.”
