NCW introduces Yashoda AI, aims to expand women’s access to AI and Cybersecurity training
NCW launches Yashoda AI to empower women across India with skills in AI, cybersecurity, and digital safety, promoting inclusive tech education.

The launch of ‘Yashoda AI: Your AI SAKHI’ to advance women’s AI literacy and digital awareness was held at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, on May 22, 2025. This initiative aims to empower women to contribute meaningfully to a Viksit Bharat driven by technology and inclusion.

Initiated by the National Commission for Women (NCW), the Yashoda AI Abhiyan aims to be India's initiative to empower women, particularly from rural and semi-urban areas, with critical skills in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Digital Safety.

The initiative seeks to transcend conventional learning through organizing in-depth debates on serious topics like AI-based crimes, privacy online, and safety measures in practice. Bringing students, teachers, and women police officers into the mix of active participation, Yashoda AI Abhiyan would seek to test new approaches to people-centred digital education, with women not just being participants but drivers of India's digitally empowered future.

Yashoda AI is the project of the National Commission for Women (NCW) in partnership with Future Shift Labs (FSL). Addressing the launch event, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar reaffirmed NCW's resolve to safeguard women's rights on the digital platform, further stating that this campaign is a logical progression of NCW's initiatives under cyber awareness, gender justice, and women-driven safety innovations.
