OpenAI, Nvidia, Oracle, and Cisco partner with G42 to launch Stargate UAE—an ambitious AI mega-campus to accelerate innovation across the Middle East.

Leading technology companies OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, and Cisco are joining forces to build a major AI campus in the United Arab Emirates, named Stargate UAE, as reported by CNBC.

This collaboration aims to create a transformative AI infrastructure to support the UAE's ambitious vision of empowering its people, expanding its economy, and shaping its technological future.

A Visionary AI Project

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the significance of the Stargate UAE project, said, “AI is the most transformative force of our time.”

He added, “With Stargate UAE, we are building the AI infrastructure to power the country’s bold vision – to empower its people, grow its economy, and shape its future.”

The project is being built in collaboration with Emirati firm G42 and will cover 10 square miles, featuring a 5-gigawatt capacity. The partnership aims to establish a global hub for artificial intelligence, with state-of-the-art infrastructure supporting advanced AI applications and research.

Strategic Roles and Technologies

According to CNBC, the project will see OpenAI and Oracle manage a 1-gigawatt compute cluster built by G42, with Nvidia supplying the required AI chips. Cisco will provide the connectivity infrastructure, ensuring high-speed, reliable communication for the AI-powered data centers.

In the short term, the first 200-megawatt AI cluster is set to launch next year, marking the beginning of a highly scalable infrastructure aimed at transforming the region’s AI capabilities.

A Global Commitment to AI

The Stargate UAE project is part of a broader multi-billion-dollar initiative announced earlier by the Trump administration, which also saw partnerships with SoftBank and OpenAI.

In January, OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank committed to an initial investment of $100 billion, with plans to allocate an additional $500 billion over the next four years to expand AI infrastructure worldwide.

Strengthening Global AI Infrastructure

OpenAI emphasized the strategic importance of the project, stating that it would “reinforces OpenAI’s commitment to strengthening US infrastructure while helping allies gain access to transformative AI responsible and securely.”
