Over 100 School Heads Attend Conclave on 'AI in Classrooms'
CBSE educators gather at Education Conclave in Jalandhar to explore AI in classrooms, with sessions on early learning, STEM, teacher training, and digital innovation.

Over 100 CBSE school principals and educators from across the region gathered at the Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan branch, for an Education Conclave on “Technology in Education.” The event was organized under Disha, an initiative of the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, aiming to explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies in classrooms.

The conclave began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, led by Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Regional Officer, CBSE Chandigarh, followed by a cultural performance titled “Tech of Yugas,” depicting the evolution of technology. Welcoming the participants, Dr. Palak Gupta, Director of CSR, emphasized the need for constructive dialogue on digital education.

AI for Innovation, Training, and Early Education

Throughout the day, multiple technical sessions provided insights into AI's growing role in education.

  • Dr. Deepa Dogra, Director Principal, Cambridge Schools, Jalandhar, highlighted the use of Generative AI and Large Language Models in enhancing creativity and content development.
  • Dr. Harmeet Kaur Waraich of Nankana Public School, Ludhiana, focused on AI in teacher training, while Dr. Aabha Arora, Noida-based author and early education expert, addressed AI’s application in early childhood learning.
  • Kartik Goel from Delhi spoke about AI in STEM education, Paramjeet Kaur Dhillon from Phagwara presented on sustainable technology, and consultant Akshay Ahuja explained the AI-employability link.
  • Ajay Jain, CEO from Gurugram, concluded the sessions with a dynamic talk on the use of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and AI in modern classrooms.

Panel Discussions Tackle AI Resistance and Parental Role

Two key panel discussions sparked meaningful debate.

  • The first, moderated by Dr. Vinodita Sankhyan of Amritsar, discussed “Overcoming Resistance to AI in Education.”
  • The second, led by Santosh Kumar Gautam of Jalandhar, explored “AI and Parental Involvement in Education.”

The conclave ended with a felicitation ceremony for the chief guest, led by Dr. Anup Bowry (Chairman), Dr. Chander Bowry (Secretary, Medical Services), and Dr. Palak Gupta, followed by a vote of thanks and high tea.
