PadhAI Conclave 2025: Ministers and Experts Chart Ethical AI Roadmap for Education

The "PadhAI: Conclave on AI in Education" was organized by the Center for Policy Research and Governance (CPRG) and began on May 27, 2025, in New Delhi. This two-day event brought policymakers, academic leaders, and industry experts together to discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming India's education system, ensuring ethical and inclusive deployment.
Inclusive and Ethical AI in Education
The central theme of the conclave was "AI is for all," proclaiming that AI should embrace all with access to all. These discussions held AI's hand in an educational environment with the goal of inclusiveness, equity, transparency, and accountability. Themes discussed include how to address bias in AI algorithms and how AI applications should be built and utilized in an ethical manner, mindful of cultural and linguistic diversities.
The Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan reaffirmed the government's commitment to an innovative AI-centred educational ecosystem that is ethically balanced. He pointed out the current projects running under the IndiaAI Mission, the latter being aimed toward distributing AI facilities to every section of society. The mission is to democratize AI by improving access to computing, enhancing data quality, and supporting Indian AI capability while ensuring ethical and responsible application of AI technologies.

Collaborative Efforts for Responsible AI Development
The conclave laid stress on collaboration between government, academia, industry, and civil society to develop and deploy AI solutions that are socially responsible and ethically sound. Furthermore, the proceedings covered raising awareness of AI's ethical implications and the continuing dialogue regarding emerging challenges faced in the AI governance landscape.
The PadhAI Conclave 2025 practically served as a significant platform in charting a roadmap for the ethical and responsible integration of AI into India's education system, with an eye on inclusion, transparency, and accountability in the educational landscape of our country, relieved of this burdensome cultural diversity.
