Patria Launches Omnia to Build Green AI Data Centers in Latin America
Patria Investments launches Omnia to develop green AI data centers in Latin America, leveraging renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure for hyperscale growth.

Patria Investments, a leading alternative asset manager, announced the launch of Omnia, a new platform focused on developing, constructing, and managing large data center campuses throughout Latin America.

The platform will emphasize providing data center campuses powered entirely by green, renewable energy and engineered specifically for high-density AI applications.

Investment and Emphasis on Sustainability

Patria's new venture will begin with 100+ MW campus developments with investments in excess of $1 billion. The company made this step due to increasing global demand for sustainable and power-efficient data centers amid burgeoning AI applications and rising energy usage within data centers.

As per the International Energy Agency (IEA), AI-powered data center energy consumption may double by 2026, which will be a challenge to carbon emissions reduction goals of the world.

Rodrigo Abreu, Digital Infrastructure Operating Partner at Patria Investments, said, “The launch of Omnia marks an important moment for Patria. We believe Latin America is perfectly positioned to support the growth of the global AI data center infrastructure, with its vast potential of renewable energy at competitive cost, developed fiber connectivity, geopolitical neutrality and friendly regulatory environment for the development of new data center projects, allowing hyperscalers to rapidly expand their offerings while maintaining their ambitious environmental commitments.”

Sustainability at the Heart of Omnia's Strategy

Omnia will construct low-water usage, low-carbon data centers powered by renewables, enabling hyperscalers' carbon objectives. Work on the initial campus in Brazil commences in late 2025.

Latin America, with its price-competitive renewable energy supply, fiber access, and geopolitical insulation, is well placed to emerge as a leading force in the international AI data center infrastructure marketplace.
