Samsung Invests in Perplexity AI to Enhance Mobile AI Capabilities
Samsung partners with Perplexity AI to power next-gen mobile experiences, with AI features coming to Bixby, Samsung Internet, and future Galaxy devices.

Samsung is making a significant move in the artificial intelligence space by investing in AI Perplexity, as part of a broader strategy to integrate further innovative AI tools across its product line. The collaboration will bring Perplexity’s advanced AI search and additional features to Samsung devices, with plans to preload the app on forthcoming handsets and integrate its functionality into the Samsung Internet browser.

The companies are also in discussions to integrate Perplexity’s capabilities into Samsung’s in-house Bixby adjunct, a move that could significantly enhance its competitiveness against Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. The first bias featuring this integration is anticipated to debut in the Galaxy S26 series, slated for early 2026.

Perplexity Nears $14 Billion Valuation Amid Samsung Deal

Samsung is participating as a major investor in Perplexity’s current funding round, which is expected to raise around $500 million and value the AI firm at $14 billion. This investment will help Samsung reduce its long-standing reliance on Google services, a crucial component in the operation of its mobile ecosystem.

Perplexity recently partnered with Motorola, placing its AI assistant on the new Razr foldable phone, marking its first major mobile deployment. Samsung’s global reach could now expand that footprint to millions of devices worldwide.

AI Integration Signals a New Mobile Tech Era

This cooperation highlights a growing industry trend in which companies are seeking to integrate important AI assistants directly into consumer electronics. For Samsung, enhancing Bixby with Perplexity’s tech could lead to smarter exchanges, better search, and a more natural-like adjunct experience.

As AI becomes central to the stoner experience, Samsung’s collaboration with Perplexity positions it at the vanguard of the coming generation of mobile innovation, echoing Apple’s recent efforts to diversify AI partnerships for enhanced device intelligence.
