Vertiv Aligns with NVIDIA's AI Roadmap, Unveils 800 VDC Power Portfolio for AI-Centric Data Centers
Vertiv’s 800 VDC power portfolio is engineered to meet the rising energy demands of next-gen NVIDIA-powered AI data centers.

Vertiv, a global leader in providing critical digital infrastructure, has confirmed its strategic alignment with NVIDIA’s AI roadmap to deploy 800 VDC (volt direct current) power architectures for the next generation of AI-centric data centers.

This release is part of Vertiv's dedication to leading the charge on future-proof designs, with the 800 VDC power portfolio to be rolled out in the second half of 2026, preceding the rollout of NVIDIA Kyber and NVIDIA Rubin Ultra platforms.

A Strategic Partnership for Next-Gen AI Data Centers

Vertiv’s alignment with NVIDIA's AI roadmap ensures that the company stays ahead, providing optimized power and cooling infrastructure solutions that sync with NVIDIA’s next-gen compute platforms.

Vertiv is positioned to enable businesses to deploy infrastructure efficiently for AI factories and high-demand data center deployments.

As the AI sector expands, rack power needs are increasing above 300 kilowatts, and 800 VDC is a game-changer solution. Implementing this high-efficiency system will enable centralized power distribution, reducing copper usage, current, and heat loss, resolving the urgent need for energy-efficient power management solutions in AI data centers.

Vertiv’s 800 VDC Power Portfolio

Vertiv’s upcoming 800 VDC power portfolio will include centralized rectifiers, high-efficiency DC busways, rack-level DC-DC converters, and DC-compatible backup systems, offering a comprehensive range of solutions.

These products will be part of Vertiv's broad end-to-end power management portfolio, complementing its already robust AC power train to provide comprehensive solutions for AI environments.

Supporting the Evolving AI Infrastructure Landscape

As GPUs evolve to support more complex AI workloads at giga-watt scale, power and cooling solutions must advance to meet the demand for energy-efficient, high-density solutions. Vertiv’s 800 VDC portfolio addresses these requirements and offers scalable and modular systems that match the infrastructure needs of next-generation GPUs.

Scott Armul, executive vice president of global portfolio and business units at Vertiv, said, “As GPUs evolve to support increasingly complex AI applications at giga-watt scale, power and cooling providers need to be equally innovative to provide energy-efficient and high-density solutions for the AI factories. While the 800 VDC portfolio is new, DC power isn’t a new direction for us, it’s a continuation of what we’ve already done at scale.”
