Virtue AI Secures $30M in Seed and Series A to Tackle AI Security for the Enterprise

Virtue AI, an enterprise-focused startup founded by globally recognized AI safety experts, announced today it has raised $30 million in combined Seed and Series A funding.

The round was co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Walden Catalyst Ventures, with participation from Prosperity7, Factory, Osage University Partners, and prominent angels including Lip-Bu Tan, Amarjit Gill, and Chris Ré.

The funding will accelerate Virtue AI’s mission to eliminate the long-standing tradeoff between rapid AI innovation and robust security, enabling organizations to deploy generative AI with confidence and compliance.

Addressing Enterprise AI Security at Scale

Founded by Bo Li, Dawn Song, Carlos Guestrin, and Sanmi Koyejo, Virtue AI draws on more than 80 years of combined research experience in AI safety and security. The team has developed practical tools that address emerging risks in generative AI systems—ranging from hallucinations and prompt injections to data leakage and adversarial attacks.

Bo Li, co-founder and CEO of Virtue AI, said, “We saw companies struggling with the same challenges repeatedly—subpar evaluation methods, inefficient guardrails, and manual processes that created bottlenecks in AI deployment pipelines.”

She added, “Our team has dedicated decades to solving these exact problems. Virtue AI transforms that expertise into practical solutions that eliminate the false choice between innovation and safety.”

A Platform Built for AI Security

Virtue’s AI security suite features VirtueRed, a red teaming tool testing over 320 risk scenarios to reduce manual checks; VirtueGuard, high-speed guardrails with 30x performance and 50% better accuracy across multiple modalities and 90+ languages; and VirtueAgent, an automated compliance agent that enforces policies and regulations without manual setup.

These tools are based on foundational research recognized by the NSA and include award-winning studies on LLM vulnerabilities.

With the fresh funding, Virtue AI will expand its R&D, deepen platform integrations, and grow its team of researchers and engineers focused on responsible AI. The company aims to become the de facto standard for generative AI risk management in the enterprise.
