Ericsson and M1 Collaborate on Transport Automation to Enhance Network Performance and Sustainability

Ericsson and M1 have partnered to commercially deploy the groundbreaking Ericsson Transport Automation Controller (ETAC), a cloud-native solution aimed at transforming the management and operation of transport networks.
By leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), ETAC automates and optimizes operations across microwave, IP, and optical transport networks. The solution enhances synchronization monitoring, service assurance, and advanced root cause analysis (RCA) capabilities, ensuring a more efficient network operation.
AI-Driven Insights for Proactive Network Management
The proof of concept for ETAC demonstrated its ability to identify sources of interference and improve network performance by providing AI-driven insights and automation. These capabilities enable M1 to make proactive, data-driven decisions, streamline operations, and optimize power consumption across its microwave links. These improvements align with M1’s sustainability objectives while boosting overall network efficiency.
