Gradiant Rolls Out AI Water Solutions for Data Centers in US and Indo-Pacific
Gradiant deploys AI-powered water recycling systems for data centers in the US and Indo-Pacific, tackling sustainability in water-stressed regions.

Gradiant, a global leader in advanced water and wastewater solutions, has been awarded two new contracts by leading technology companies to design and deploy sustainable water systems for new data centers in the United States and the Indo-Pacific region.

These data centers, essential to powering the growing AI and cloud computing industries, are increasingly situated in water-stressed areas of the world, making effective water management crucial.

Addressing Water Scarcity in Data Center Growth

Data centers, which use large quantities of water as well as power, are now a central concern in discussions of sustainability. A typical 100-megawatt data center in the United States uses as much water as 6,500 homes in a single day.

With estimates indicating global data center water consumption is set to double by 2030, this increase in demand is putting huge pressure on already strained water resources. New facilities are being built in water-deficient areas like the US Southwest, the Middle East, and Australia, locations selected for their proximity to fuel sources and local incentives.

Gradiant's Role in Sustainable Data Center Operations

Gradiant’s innovative solutions aim to meet aggressive sustainability targets while minimizing the impact of these large-scale operations on local water supplies. The company’s unique approach combines water recycling and reuse, AI optimization, and specialized chemicals to help operators address water scarcity challenges

Gradiant’s CEO, Anurag Bajpayee, said, “In today’s climate reality, building a data center without a water strategy is not an option.”

He added, “These facilities are as thirsty as they are power hungry. Our clients are asking how to eliminate wastewater, how to operate in drought-prone regions without harming local communities, and how to do it all while scaling AI infrastructure at lightning speed.”

Gradiant’s solutions include ZLD technology that recycles 99% of process water, SmartOps AI for real-time optimization and cost savings, and eco-friendly CURE Chemicals that enhance treatment performance while reducing environmental impact.
