StorONE and Phison Deepen Partnership to Launch AI-Native On-Premises Storage for LLM Training

StorONE, renowned for its highly efficient storage platform, has announced a significant expansion of its strategic partnership with Phison Electronics, a leader in NAND flash innovation.

Building on their previous collaboration, the two companies are now combining forces to introduce AI-native on-premises storage platforms that are both high-performance and intelligence-driven.

The joint solution, scheduled for release in Q2 2025, will integrate Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ technology with StorONE’s enterprise-grade storage platform to empower enterprises and research institutions with a robust infrastructure for training and deploying large language models (LLMs) locally.

Reimagining Storage for the AI Era

The expanded partnership aims to tackle the rising complexity and compute demands of AI workloads. Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ enables GPU memory extension by leveraging SSDs as flash memory, making it possible to train billion-parameter LLMs without scaling out GPU hardware, significantly reducing infrastructure costs. StorONE’s high-throughput architecture ensures these workloads are supported with minimal latency and maximum reliability.

Gal Naor, CEO of StorONE, said, “At StorONE, we have always believed in making a storage platform not just fast and affordable, but intelligent.”

He added, “By combining our enterprise storage platform with Phison’s aiDAPTIV+, we are enabling AI infrastructure that’s not just smarter, but more accessible.”

Democratizing AI Infrastructure

Michael Wu, President of Phison-US, stated that the company was committed to democratizing AI performance and that its expanded partnership with StorONE marked a significant step toward achieving that goal at scale.

He explained that the collaboration aimed to provide customers with a powerful solution to accelerate their AI ambitions through secure, intelligent, on-premises infrastructure designed to support advanced AI workloads.

AI-Powered Usability and Optimization

Beyond hardware and performance, the new platform introduces a conversational AI interface, a chatbot designed for IT administrators and developers. This feature allows users to query system status, troubleshoot issues, and optimize storage workflows using natural language, simplifying system management and making storage operations more intuitive.
